Khubulay Khan

KHUBULAY KHAN

Khubulay, the youngest brother of Munkh Khan, was born in 1215, the blue pig year. He assumed the throne in 1260, the white monkey year. Kubulay Khan transferred the political center of the Mongolian Empire to Beijing in the south and founded Mongolian Yuan dynasty which ruled over China and Tibet. From this period a tendency of disintegration of the Mongolian Empire began, but under the rule of Khubulay Khan Mongolians made a great contribution to the world civilisation. Khubulay Khan passed away in 1294, the blue horse year.
